Dai Daixin holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Design from Tongji University. He is currently Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; a Class-A Registered Architect at Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd.; and a Registered Urban Planner at Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd. He is an exchange faculty member at LiSUM, University of Lille (France), a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University and Cornell University (USA), and a senior research fellow at both the Technical University of Munich and Ruhr- Universität Bochum (Germany). He directs the LandscapeInLab research group and HSDesign Institute.

His team advocates the theory of landscape regeneration, using landscape space as a medium to pursue the conservation and regeneration of landscape heritage and the restoration and regeneration of landscape ecology.

He has led or participated in more than 20 national and provincial research projects, published 2 monographs and 5 translations, authored over 90 academic papers, and completed more than 200 planning and design projects.
